Gluten-Free Pizza and Other Food Available at Boulder Organic Pizza (BOP)

Summary: A few posts back, we wrote that Beau Jo's pizzas could be ordered gluten-free. That was great to learn, but now we have even more good news on the pizza front to report: Boulder Organic Pizza (BOP) has gluten-free pies available too! In fact, every pizza that BOP offers, with the exception of the Momma Rosa's Meatball pizza, can be made gluten-free. (In case you're curious, Momma Rosa's Meatball pizza is the brainchild of the chef's mother - or "momma," if you will - and hence it's ingredients can't be changed without it ceasing to be momma's creation.) And the best part is that the gluten-free pizzas at BOP cost nothing extra!

A few posts back, we wrote that Beau Jo’s pizzas could be ordered gluten-free. That was great to learn, but now we have even more good news on the pizza front to report: Boulder Organic Pizza (BOP) has gluten-free pies available too! In fact, every pizza that BOP offers, with the exception of the Momma Rosa’s Meatball pizza, can be made gluten-free. (In case you’re curious, Momma Rosa’s Meatball pizza is the brainchild of the chef’s mother – or “momma,” if you will – and hence it’s ingredients can’t be changed without it ceasing to be momma’s creation.) And the best part is that the gluten-free pizzas at BOP cost nothing extra!

This news should be greeted with much fanfare from the gluten-free crowd because BOP has some excellent pizzas to offer. (As a relevant side note, the gluten-free pizzas are prepared in a prep area and oven that is separate from those used for normal pizzas.) Of the vegetarian pies, the Portobello and Truffle Oil jumps out, as does the Asparagi. The former is made with fresh home-made mozzarella cheese and portobello mushrooms and is drizzled with white truffle oil. The latter is loaded with ingredients, including asparagus, garlic, and shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano.

BOP also offers pizza with meats. Although fairly traditional, the Sausage and Mushroom is really good, featuring fresh home-made mozzarella cheese, natural Italian sausage, and local exotic mushrooms. On the less traditional side, there is the Chicken and Wisdom, which is made with fontina cheese, natural chicken, garlic, and sage.

By the way, all the pizzas on the menu, of which the four just listed make up only a fraction, are made with ingredients that are organic, all-natural, and local whenever possible, according to menu.

Finally, the gluten-free options are not limited to pizza – there are also appetizers, pastas, a couple entrées, and desserts available that are made without gluten. So, you can have a three-course meal at BOP, and every part of it will be gluten-free, even if you don’t order pizza.
